The Blue Catalyst Fund supports high-quality mangrove conservation and restoration projects with technical expertise, financial and transaction advisory and milestone-based funding, to help them reach investment readiness.

Call for Proposals now open!

Are you developing a high-quality mangrove conservation or restoration project?

Applications are open to eligible projects globally – from those establishing feasibility to those ready to progress beyond it.

The deadline for applications is 19:00 BST / 20:00 CEST on Thursday 1 October 2026

The challenge

Many credible blue carbon projects struggle to progress from early development to implementation and investment.

High development costs, complex technical requirements, regulatory uncertainty and limited access to suitable finance can slow or stop progress. Support can also end before projects are ready for larger-scale capital.

The Blue Catalyst Fund is designed to help bridge that gap.

Our solution

The Blue Catalyst Fund provides end-to-end support to help credible mangrove projects reach investment readiness.

Funding is provided as an unsecured contingent loan, with no equity taken and repayment is required only if follow-on investment is secured. This aligns the Fund's incentives with project success.

Impact Goals

By 2035, the Blue Catalyst Fund aims to protect or restore 150,000 hectares of coastal and marine ecosystems, avoid or remove 32 million tons of CO2e over the projects’ lifetime, and unlock $275M of private investment for coastal ecosystems and communities.
